On complexity of society and our motivations
It seems to me that the complexity of today's society and mainly our ability to share information with each other gives us so many ideas what to do that we may exhaust our own initiative to come up with things to do.
We compare ourselves with successes all around the world, meanwhile as consequence we often want to achieve as much as possible - without any significant culturally imposed direction for where our lives should be heading, it is often a tragicomic combination. It somewhat reminds me of that donkey who starved to death because he could not decide between two haystacks.
